Joined human rights groups to push for the passage of The Human Rights Ordinance. Because of its significance, other cities in Alabama passed similar laws.
Led/assisted in an investigation into unethical or questionable practices of the Birmingham School Board, The BJCC Authority, Max Transit Authority, and Balch and Bingham. Due to such investigative work, many issues were exposed.
Helped wrote a grant that addressed blight in Birmingham. In fact, the program is known as The Magic City Blight Busters.

Served on the Social Justice and Economic Development subcommittees of Mayor Woodfin’s Transition Team
Became a major reformist for police redevelopment. For instance, a future public safety plan is forthcoming.
